After competing in their state marching competition, the Mighty Knight Marching Band went straight to work to set up their annual Haunted Band Hall before Trunk-Or-Treat. The theme for this year was “Insane Asylum.”With the help of band director Mr. Grant and the students, it all came together just in time.
When entering the Haunted Band Hall, you are greeted by one of your two tour guides. You are led towards the first room, the padded room. You see patients in red-stained gowns and straightjackets, rocking back and forth and going crazy from the isolation. After that is the red room. A girl lies on an operating table while a doctor’s cannibalistic experiment unfolds. Our piccolo player states;
“My dad and I put red velvet cake into a meat grinder, and made it look like intestines for her to eat.”
Next is the operating room. Dismembered body parts are strewn around, red-stained body bags hang from the ceiling, and fog fills up the room. On the tables are patients being medically worked on by doctors, trying to make them sane again. Then you are taken into the escape room, where caged patients are struggling to be let out. Somehow they do manage to escape, chasing guests into the next room where more scare actors pop out, sending guests running for the exit.
The Haunted Band Hall not only showcased more of the band’s dedication but also brought people together to enjoy a night of frights and fun. Thanks to everybody who contributed to set it up, as well as everybody who showed up for the experience. It was a fright to remember!
