After a long year of hard work and service within the community, the Debs and Dustys celebrate with a Leadout, which invites family and friends to support every member as they are announced to the stage. The Leadouts take place each January and is the largest social event of the year for both clubs.
The Debs Social Service Club and Dusty Social Service Club are longstanding community service clubs for teenaged girls in Lauderdale County.
On Jan. 17, the Dusty Club held its Leadout at the Temple Theatre.
“Seeing the community come out to celebrate all the hard work this club has put in is very rewarding,” said Eden Culpepper, junior and Dusty representative.
On Jan. 24, Debs held its Leadout at the Meridian Little Theatre. Dee Smith, junior and Debs secretary, says “getting to see all of [her] friends dressed up” is her favorite part.
