On Friday, May 3, the West Lauderdale senior class of 2024 walked through the hallways of the elementary school and middle school for one last time. This was a very special and reminiscent moment for many. Several students shared their thoughts on this experience:

When asked what it was like to walk through the elementary school after all these years, Emily Snodgrass commented, “It just brought back so many memories… it made me feel like a kid again… and I got to see a lot of people that I missed.”

Rhys Turner added, “It was pretty fun, especially [because] a lot of my old teachers were there… I was [mostly] focused on high-fiving all of the different kids. I actually went back because I missed some of them.”

Josie Yoskovich commented, “It’s just really crazy because it feels like we were just there two seconds ago, and then all of a sudden we’re back. All the kids look so much [smaller] than whenever I was actually there.”

As the seniors took a moment to look back on their previous years, they looked forward to the bright futures that lie ahead of them. When asked if she was ready to graduate, Selena Williams answered, “I’m ready to go to college honestly… I’m not used to staying in one place for more than four years, so I need that change in my life.”

Macy Oliver shared her plans after graduation, stating, “I am going to MCC for two years, and then I [am going] transfer to State, and I want to go into elementary education.”

As graduation gets closer by the minute and the senior class’ high school chapter comes to a close, West Lauderdale celebrates these incredible students and all of their accomplishments throughout the years. Hopefully, in looking back on all their years at West Lauderdale, they will cherish all the fun memories and everything that has made them a West Lauderdale knight into adulthood.
