A- Day Celebration

Many students gathered on Friday, April 26, 2024, to celebrate all their hard work this year and the past years for becoming an “A” school. This event had many activities such as a movie in the gym, Kona Ice, 2810 (local coffee), and time to spend time with friends.

To begin the day, 11th and 12th grade went outside first. Then, 9/10th graders followed. These two separate rotations both lasted an hour and thirty minutes. Teachers and chaperones keept an eye on everyone and supported this hard work.

Student London Bailey voices how she feels about the celebration by saying: “I think this is a great thing on how we get to celebrate our achievements with each other”.

Numerous students have worked very hard to improve test scores over time. This is not an easy task to achieve, and it takes hard work and dedication as a whole school. This includes all teachers and staff around campus.

Many students worked very hard, and they were finally congratulated. Student Kaley Hardey voices how she felt about the day: “A-day was an amazing experience. Supporting our schools ranking helped us students enjoy each other’s company by coming together to play fun games, communicating with each other, and enjoying the relaxing atmosphere outside.”

West Lauderdale finished this day by heading back to class and going to lunch. These students can be recognized within our community by this celebration. This honors all the people who have devoted their time and effort to WLHS with a fun Friday!
