Last Thursday night, the Lady Knights faced off against the Forest Bearcats. The night called for many fouls showing a battle to win between both of the teams. The game ended in what would seem as a blowout leaving Forest on top, but both teams walked away winners.
When it comes to sports, winning is not what it is all about. What the players take from the game is the most important thing.
When asked how the game went and if she was upset about the loss, player Katelyn Hodgins says, “I think we played to the best of our ability. We have potential this year. Where of course I hoped we would have won, I’m not completely upset about it. All it takes is more practice.”
A position no team wants to be a part of is being down by 23 with just a couple of minutes left in the fourth quarter. West Lauderdale Sophomore Katelyn Hodgins gets the ball and puts up a shot squeezing in those two points before the buzzer goes off. Ending the game with 60-39, the West Lauderdale Lady Knights took a big loss.
The Lady Knights take the loss with confidence preparing for the games to come. A loss will not bring the team down but instead will give, as basketball player Katelyn Hodgins says, “an opportunity to fix on mistakes.”
