West Lauderdale’s annual homecoming parade was held on Tuesday, October 2nd. The Homecoming Parade featured the marching band, football team, cheerleaders, and the middle and high school Homecoming Court.
The parade took place at the entrance to the middle school and proceeded down to the softball field. The participants would throw candy, show off their float decorations, and even dance in the middle of the parade for viewers.
Zach Garrison, one of the Seventh-grade representatives, shared what it meant to be voted by his peers to be on the Homecoming Court,
“It made me pretty happy because it felt like people respected me [and] they could trust me to represent them well.”
The West Lauderdale homecoming parade not only marked the start of an exciting week, but it also served as a vibrant celebration of school spirit and unity. It brought together students and adults to celebrate the achievements and traditions that represent the body of West Lauderdale. The parade’s joyful atmosphere and shared experiences set the tone for the week of homecoming festivities and left lasting memories for all involved.
