The Libby Gary Chapter of the National Honor Society recently held its 9th annual Turkey Feather Fundraiser to support LOVE’s Kitchen, a nonprofit dedicated to helping families in need. This year, the fundraiser raised over $2,000, a vital contribution to the organization’s efforts to serve the community.
Rhea Garrison, president of the National Honor Society, reflected on her experience with organizing the event and participating in the previous year, saying:
“Being involved with the Turkey Feather Fundraiser was a great experience for the National Honor Society and for me personally. It allowed us to support Love’s Kitchen and the community at large. There’s a lot of work that can go into organizing these fundraisers, and I am very thankful for the staff’s effort in showing up to do their part for this honorable cause.”
Rhea’s leadership and dedication set the tone for this year’s event, inspiring members to exceed their goals. Among them, junior Lily Woodall stood out for her incredible achievement in selling 100 feathers to support LOVE’s Kitchen.
When asked about her thoughts on selling 100 feathers to support the cause, junior member Lily Woodall shared:
“It makes me glad I know people who are blessed and generous enough to share their fortune with others who aren’t as fortunate. Knowing that the money we raised will help families in need through LOVE’s Kitchen makes all the hard work worth it.”
The National Honor Society plans to continue this fundraiser, aligning with its mission to uphold the four pillars of scholarship, character, leadership, and service while positively impacting the community.
