On a night when the weather seemed to have its own plans, the West Lauderdale Knights and Clarkdale Bulldogs took the field for what was expected to be a high-stakes showdown. As the rain poured from the darkened skies, the stadium transformed into a slippery battleground, turning the game into a test of resilience and skill amid challenging conditions.
As the final whistle blew, the scoreboard read 42-16, favoring the Knights.
The Knights did not waste any time. The Knights’ fans erupted in cheers as West Lauderdale’s Kayden (KP) Peoples scored within the first 5 minutes of the game.
Peoples scored a total of four touchdowns Friday night.
It was apparent that the rain was the most challenging aspect for the Knights, but Coach Clay and his team preserved through it. Going into the game, Clay had high standards for his team, which he will hold for the rest of the season. “We are to win as many [games] as we can on Friday nights each time we take the field,” says Clay.
As the Knights move into the next week, they will face the Germantown Mavericks on Friday, September 20th.
