Pigs in a blanket are a staple finger food at parties and events. Originating in 1957 Germany, this buttery, flakey treat is a classic. The recipe for this snack has been passed down many generations and modified to perfection.
Serving: 25 pigs in a blanket
Prep time: 15-20 minutes
Cook time: 20-25 minutes
Ingredients needed:
1 can of biscuit dough (5 count)
Cocktail sausages (25 count)
Instructions
First, wash your hands.
Next, fry cocktail sausages in an oiled saucepan until browned.
Remove the sausages from the pan and pat them with a paper towel until all excess oil is removed.
Then, set them aside to let them cool.
Next, flour a large cutting board.
Then, carefully open the biscuits.
Take 1 biscuit, place it on the cutting board, lightly flour it, and roll it with a rolling pin until it is a 6-inch circle.
Cut the rolled biscuit dough into 5 strips.
Get a cooled cocktail sausage and wrap the dough strip around it.
Repeat until all sausages are wrapped with dough.
Spray a baking sheet with oil.
Transfer the dough-wrapped sausages to the sprayed baking sheet.
Then, bake them for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Take them out of the oven and let them cool.
Enjoy with mustard, ketchup, or plain.
